The Main Library is located on the second floor of the Beckman Center, home of the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research, and adjadent to the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. It houses the majority of the Zoo's 12,000+ books, and 400+ print journal titles, as well as the Archives and Rare Book Room. Many more journal subscriptions and information resources are available online through the Library's website, library.sandiegozoo.org. Several small, specialized print collections are also located at various sites throughout our multi-campus organization.
We are happy to help San Diego Zoo Global staff with research projects and reference questions. We teach individuals and groups how to access and use our collections and website. Staff and volunteers are welcome to browse the collections and use our facilities during open hours. We offer a reading/study area, four networked computers, a slide scanner, two black-and-white printers, and a photocopier/scanner.
Welcome! Our Information for New Employees packet gives an overview of Library resources and services.
The San Diego Zoo Global Library Copyright Notice provides copyright and fair use guidelines and links to informative resources.
